  1. Intel Core Duo Vs I5

Welcome to the Geekbench Processor Benchmark Chart. The data on this chart is gathered from user-submitted Geekbench 4 results from the Geekbench Browser. How to turn off windows 8 updates. Geekbench 4 scores are calibrated against a baseline score of 4000 (which is the score of an Intel Core i7-6600U). Higher scores are better, with double the score indicating double the performance.

I agree with you, frankiéb; the OP'h question is:-Hi.

Intel Core Duo Vs I5

The Core i3 naming was introduced with Intel’s Nehalem microarchitecture in 2008. This was the immediate successor to Core 2. The biggest difference was that Nehalem moved the northbridge (previously a separate chip that was responsible for connecting the CPU, memory, the system bus, and the southbridge, which then connected to lower-speed peripherals like hard drives) onto the CPU die. The Intel Core i5-3470 is a mainstream Ivy Bridge CPU that delivers solid performance with very few surprises (and limited overclocking opportunities). I3 is basically Nehalem with 2 cores and 1 thread per core, reduced cache, and I want to say no l3 cache but I could be wrong on the last one. I3 isn't bad, but not much of an upgrade from a Core 2 duo. Maybe the ones with 2 threads per core would be, but still at that price you can get a quad core i5, or even a Phenom II x4 or x6.
